What's not so simple is learning how to operate each room's AV equipment. Using unintuitive touch screens and fiddling around with a bunch of remote controllers can be annoying for non-tech-savvy employees which defeats the whole purpose of the room. Technology-related frustration is not a mindset in which a constructive collaboration should be started.
Now imagine a meeting room which knows what you want to do and does the controlling for you. You walk in and the room wakes up. You connect your laptop to any of the AV inputs and your content appears on the display. You start your presentation and the lights are dimmed for you.
